From the Chair

January 2013 begins a new year of continued activities and events for CACC!  It is also the time in which we as an organization pass the baton to the next Chair of CACC.  I am pleased to pass the baton to Ms. Tracy Solida.  It is also my time to say “THANK YOU” for providing me the opportunity to lead and serve such a wonderful organization!  Serving as Chair of CACC has been an exhilarating, rewarding and tremendous opportunity.  I will continue my membership with CACC and encourage you to consider participating on the Board of CACC or one of its many committees.  To serve is a great personal and professional growth opportunity.

As I conclude my year as Chair, I’d like to highlight a few items:

  1. CACC was recognized in May by WorldatWork as the 2011 Local Network Association of the Year Award recipients.  We are so appreciative of the honor to host WorldatWork’s CEO, Anne Ruddy, at CACC’s annual business meeting on February 13, 2013.
  2. The membership collected 10 winter coats and provided $590 in cash to Charlotte Rescue Mission at the November member meetings.  Our organization has done well in supporting the 4 organizations that we have identified for our community outreach activities.  We will continue our community outreach activities for 2013. “Dress for Success Charlotte” is the featured organization for the February annual meeting.
  3. A special thank you to Karly Allison-Poe, Public Relations Chair, for her hard work and diligence in successfully launching CACC’s new website in December.  Each CACC member should have received their individual member login information.  If we have inadvertently overlooked someone, please contact us at [email protected]
  4. As of January 7, 2013, CACC has a new Administrator.  Please welcome Pam Gilreath of Gilreath Virtual Assistance to CACC.  She will be introduced at the February Membership meeting.
  5. As a reminder, CACC also has a new address:  It is P.O. Box 32672, Charlotte, NC 28232.  Please direct all correspondence to the new address.

A special thanks to the 2012 Board and Committee members for their dedication and service to CACC.  We look forward to the continued support from the CACC membership, sponsors, Board and Committee members for this new year of 2013.

Mentoring

The CACC Mentoring Program provides a unique way to bring members together for a learning experience. Over the past few years we have received several testimonials to validate the benefit and importance of providing this program to our membership. We encourage you to consider becoming a mentor and share your knowledge, or become a mentee and learn from an experienced professional.

We will have our "kick-off" meeting on Monday, February 25th  from 5:30 - 8:00 pm at Piedmont Natural Gas.

During this meeting, you will be introduced in the program and will have an opportunity to meet the other mentees and mentors.  As we have done successfully in the past, we will have a "speed dating" round so that the mentees and mentors can interact one-on-one.  Details on the Mentee / Mentor selection and pairing will be explained during the kick-off meeting.

Please contact Jean Gilreath if you are interested in participating in the program and attending the 2013 Kick-Off Meeting.  Calendar invites will be sent to participates and if you have a conflict with the date, please let Jean know.
