From the Chair

Happy Spring CACC Members,

If you are like me, Spring is a time to freshen up your wardrobe, buy new home décor, and update your yard landscape. Similarly, we should take this time to update our professional development and explore ways to enhance our knowledge, engage in our community, and build up our professional network.

As a member of CACC, we can help freshen up your professional development. In 2018, our goal is to offer members trending topics and highly sought after speakers for both our member meetings and WorldatWork education courses to help achieve your certification and enhance your skill set.  We also want to provide creative member socials to network with peers in a fun, relaxed environment.

Coming up, Scott Cawood, Ed.D., CCP, GRP, President and CEO of WorldatWork, will be joining us for our member meeting on May 9th. You don't want to miss this! Scott will discuss the unique role today's professionals play in helping organizations make the critical connection between highly effective organizations and rewards that achieve business success through a fully engaged workforce.

In addition to hosting WorldatWork in May, Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) will be joining us on August 8th to share benefit trends and best practices as many companies head into open enrollment season. Then, on November 7th Willis Towers Watson will share insights to the Total Reward Optimization tool, and Wells Fargo will discuss how this type of tool can be utilized to find its 'total reward sweet spot'.

Please be sure to save-the-date for these member meetings!

Regards,
Stephanie

Member Meeting May 9th | The Time is Now!

Join us on May 9th as WorldatWork President & CEO, Scott Cawood, Ed.D., CCP, GRP, joins CACC to discuss the unique role today's professionals play in helping organizations make the critical connection between highly effective organizations and rewards that achieve business success through a fully engaged workforce.

The employer-employee relationship that once connected organizations and the workforce is gone. Today, every organization is being challenged to rethink its strategy, including how it competes for and engages with workers in an ever-changing, on-demand world. As a result, it's time to find new ways to create fun and rewarding workplaces that deliver a unique and competitive advantage.

Prior to joining WorldatWork, Scott was the Leader of Organizational Effectiveness at W.L. Gore & Associates Inc., the maker of Gore-Tex.  Scott has served as the President of Synygy, a global compensation and sales software company where he began as its chief operations and people officer.  Scott has also held executive positions at Revlon and the Great Place to Work Institute, which selects Fortune magazine's 100 Best Places to Work.

As an avid learner, Scott holds five degrees, including his doctorate in work-based learning from the Wharton School of Business and the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied labor and industrial relations, at Michigan State. He has been a part of the business school faculty at Georgetown University for 15 years. Scott holds a first-degree Black belt in Kenpo Karate, loves riding roller coasters, never turns down carrot cake. When he's not visiting members or a WorldatWork local network, Scott can be found splitting his time between rescuing Whippets and training for his next marathon.  Scott was born in Detroit, MI and now calls the sunny state of Arizona, home.
