From the Chair
Stephanie Oberg, PHR, SHRM-CP 2018 CACC Chair
Happy New Year!
As one year ends, another begins. If you are like me, you've spent these past few weeks reflecting on your accomplishments in 2018. Whether you accomplished personal or professional goals this year, I hope you take a moment to celebrate all that you have achieved and continue looking ahead to the future!
As the Chair of CACC for 2018, there are many accomplishments from this year that I'd like to take a moment to celebrate. Within the 1st quarter of 2018, our Member Meetings Chair had a job opportunity that required him to move out of state and forego his position on the Board. The Board wasted no time in volunteering to help with the responsibilities in the interim, which turned out to be the remainder of 2018.
In addition, each Board member made efforts to help reduce expenses and increase revenue for the association. This included exploring alternative locations, like The Employers Association, who provided complimentary meeting space for ALL education and member meetings in 2018 (and will do so again in 2019). We were also cost-conscious when catering each event, reducing the overall expense for 2018, compared to 2017.
And last, but certainly not least, I want to acknowledge this year's sponsors - Marsh & McLennan Agency, Member Meeting Sponsor, and Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP as our 2018-19 Premier Sponsor!
It can be tough to balance business needs with the desires of those you are serving, but we hope to have served our members well in 2018 and look forward to 2019.
If you haven't already saved-the-date, please be sure to mark your calendars for our first member meeting of 2019 on February 13th at The Employers Association. For more information on the Member meeting and to register, please scroll down to the member meeting section of the newsletter.
Thank you again for your continued membership. It has been my pleasure to serve as CACC's 2018 Chair. Cheers to a new year!
Stephanie Oberg, PHR, SHRM-CP 2018 CACC Chair
