From the Chair

Happy New Year CACC Members!

Hope that everyone had both a safe and festive holiday season with friends and family.   We are looking forward to another fantastic year and I have appreciated all of your time and willingness to share with one another.   This is a special group that I've grown to appreciate and have been honored to be the 2015 Chair.

I'm very excited to transition to Past Chair/Community Engagement in 2016 and hope that you are able to join us in some of the charitable activities that we will participate in this year.  We still have opportunities for committee members; your time and feedback will certainly be valued!

I have learned so much this year and grateful for the 2015 Board Members.   They supported me and CACC with much dedication and fun!

Best,

Teresa Newman, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Member Meeting

Please join us for our first CACC meeting of 2016 where our featured speaker will be Jean Harpootlan Thomas, SCRP.  She is the President of Relocation and Corporate Services at Wilkinson ERA and the current President of CMARC, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Area Relocation Council.

By the time Joan moved to Charlotte in the fourth grade, she had already moved eight times. It turned out to be her last move, as her family found a home here and settled down.  This experience of moving from city to city and then putting down roots in Charlotte was perfect preparation for her current roles.   One of the industrys leading relocation experts, her entire career has been dedicated to real estate with almost 35 years of experience.  That wealth of experience coupled with her longtime insiders view of Charlotte promises to provide for an information-filled morning.

  • Date: Wednesday, February 10, 2016
  • Time: 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM
  • Location: Crowne Plaza Charlotte Executive Park at 5700 Westpark Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217

Mentoring

2015 Mentoring Program Year Comes to a Close2016 Mentoring Program to Launch in February!

Once again we had a successful Mentoring Program year 2015 marked our 7th anniversary for the CACC Mentoring Program!  Many of the participants have commented on their positive experience.  December/January ends the official relationship for the 2015 Mentoring participants, but for many, the relationship, or more like friendship, continues.

We will be launching the 2016 Mentoring Program in March under the leadership of Kris Eddy.  Please watch for announcements and let Kris (or me) know of your interest as a Mentee or Mentor.

Megan Blankemeyer
2016 Chairperson

Social Update

We kicked off our Fall Social at Queen City Q uptown, after which we made our way to Time Warner Arena for an exciting night at the Hive where our Charlotte Hornets beat the Chicago Bulls with a final score of 130 105!   The Hornets put on a great show, and even if we lose, its always fun to watch the Honeybees, the Little Stingers and all the various halftime activities.  In case you missed this event, not to worry we have more fun excursions planned for 2016!
